Great Is Thy Faithfulness

His seed also will I make to endure forever, and his throne as the days of heaven. If his child forsake my law, and walk not in my judgments, if they break my statutes, and keep not my commandments; Then will I visit their transgression with the rod, and their iniquity with stripes. Nevertheless my lovingkindness will I not utterly take from him, nor suffer my faithfulness to fail.

Psalm 89:29 to 33

Our God is a faithful God. Throughout the Word of God one thing always stands out - Gods faithfulness. We see His faithfulness to Abraham, Isaac and Jacob. We saw His faithfulness with the children of Israel, with Joshua, Elijah, Gideon, Samuel, Daniel and his three friends, and even Jonah.

We all battle with faith sometimes; today I want you to know that God is always faithful. And because He is always faithful, we know and we can be assured that God will indeed never leave you nor forsake you.

In Psalm 89 David touches on Gods faithfulness during our times of disobedience. In 2 Timothy 2 we read, "It is a faithful saying, that if we suffer, we shall also reign with Him; if we are without faith, He remains faithful, He cannot deny Himself."

Here are three things you need to know about Gods faithfulness:

1. God is a God who chastises His children. God is a God of discipline and He disciplines us to draw us closer to Him and to His Word — and God chastises in love, never to condemn.

2. Gods faithfulness never fails. Yes He chastises you, but He remains faithful to you. God remains faithful to you because you are His child.

3. God remains faithful to His Word. Isaiah 55 says that His Word "shall not return to me void, but it shall accomplish that which I please, and it shall prosper in the thing whereto I sent it." God hastens His Word to perform it. God honours His Word above His name.
