Fields of Opportunity
Say not ye, There are yet four months, and then cometh harvest? Behold, I say unto you, lift up your eyes, and look on the fields; for they are white already to harvest.
John 4:35Satan never stops working. He is continually walking around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. He is continually stealing, killing and destroying. And if you have not noticed, Satan is attacking more today than he did ten years ago.
Fifty years ago, drugs were a luxury. Today, for some, it is a necessity. Fifty years ago, sex before marriage was a disgrace to all in the family. Today, parents encourage it, as long as they use a condom. The divorce rate has hit the 50% mark already — one in every two marriages end in divorce. Ever wondered why this world is like this? Because Christians have sat back, waiting for the "perfect" time to do Gods work.
There will never be a perfect time to do Gods work, not when you operate in the flesh. But when you operate in the Spirit, every day is harvest time. Every day there is somebody who is lost, somebody who has lost a loved one, somebody who needs a friend, somebody who needs some help and prayer.
When was the last time you helped an old man cross the road? When was the last time you gave to the poor? What last did you visit a hospital, or a prison, and give hope to somebody? When last did you lend an ear to somebody who needed comforting?
Acts 10:38 says, "how God anointed Jesus of Nazareth with the Holy Ghost and with power: who went about doing good, and healing all that were oppressed of the devil." Jesus went about doing good. That was His lifestyle; He never ceased from doing good. Wherever He went, He saw a harvest ready to be reaped.
Matthew 9:37 says that the harvest is plenteous, but the labourers are few. A harvest that is not reaped goes to waste; it is thrown into the fire. YOU are the labourer God is looking for. Go forth, and reap a harvest today. Tomorrow may be too late for somebody.
