What Did God Put in Your Hand?

Wherefore criest thou unto me? Speak unto the children of Israel that they go forward.

Exodus 14:15

Heres the context ... Pharaoh let Gods people go free after centuries of captivity. Gods people witnessed the miracles, saw the plagues, and lived through them all. And what did the Israelites do when things went south? "Let us alone, that we may serve the Egyptians; for it had been better for us to serve the Egyptians, than we should die in the wilderness."

Getting your victory is not always easy. Sometimes it is easier to continue sinning, or carry on spending our finances on the things of this world rather than giving our tithes. Sometimes it appears easier to continue lying, or stealing, rather than putting more trust and faith in God when you are in a wilderness. Sometimes it is easier to go back to our spiritual Pharaohs and to our spiritual Egypt, accept defeat, because the Red Sea is in our way.

And God tells Moses, "Why are you crying to Me?" Why do we keep on praying for deliverance from the same problem? The work was done already. Yes, prayer is important; it sets in motion the plan God has for that situation. But faith without works is dead. I can pray for my breakthrough, but I need to walk into that breakthrough.

"Speak unto the children of Israel. Lift up thy rod, and stretch out thine hand over the sea, and divide it." Move forward. That is what God wants. No looking back. We keep moving forward, we keep pressing on, we divide the Red Sea if we have to. We move mountains if we have to. We bring down the walls of Jericho in our lives, if that is what it takes. Get out your rod and divide your seas.

What did God put in your hand? A rod for Moses, a sling for David, a donkey bone for Samson. But what about your gifts, your talents, the power of prayer and the Holy Spirit in your life, the power of praise and worship? What do you have in your hand that is going to bring you victory in your life?
