Entering the Holy Place
Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have the boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
1 John 4:17Jesus came to this earth to die on the cross of Calvary so that a relationship could be restored between the Father and the children. One of the greatest accomplishments achieved through Jesus dying on the cross can be found in Matthew 27:51, "And behold, the veil of the temple was torn in two from the top to the bottom."
In Exodus 26, we learn that the veil of the temple separated the Holy Place from the Most Holy Place (or the Holy of Holies). Only the High Priest could enter the Holy of Holies, and that only once a year, to offer a blood sacrifice to God for himself and for the sins of the people.
When Jesus tore the veil of the temple in two it paved the way for each and every child of God to enter the throne room of God. Jesus is our High Priest, and He sits on the right hand of God the Father, continuously interceding for each one of us.
Jesus blood is our mercy seat, the place where God met with His people. Our Father no longer sees our sins, but we are covered by the blood of the Lamb. Jude tells us that we are presented without fault into the presence of His glory with exceeding joy.
And that is the love of our Father; He sent His Son to be persecuted and nailed to a cross so that you and I could have a personal relationship with the Father. It is because of His love and the obedience of Jesus Christ that we can enter into His presence, into the Holy of Holies, and talk to God as you would to a friend.
Is God your friend today? God wants us to serve Him out of love and out of a sincere, grateful heart. It is because of His love that we can be His friend and we can enter His throne at any time and pour out our hearts to Him.
