Be Bold
The wicked flee when no man pursueth: but the righteous are bold as a lion.
Proverbs 28:1As a child of God, we have been brought up to turn the other cheek, to give people our coats when they take our shirts and to walk with people two miles when all they asked for was one. Now, to some this may sound like "being chicken." But it is not. It is called humility and living Gods Word in your life.
And there is a big difference between humility and boldness. Humility is simply freedom from pride and arrogance. Boldness is the assurance that we serve a mighty God who is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all we can hope or think or dream. And you need both humility and boldness in your life.
The Word tells us that the wicked flee, even when they are not being chased. They run when they see shadows, they run when they do nothing wrong. They run even when they think they've done well. Now, to me, that sounds a lot like a life of fear, timidity and cowardice.
However, a child of the Living God has been made as bold as a lion. The lion is a strong, fierce and rapacious animal. A rapacious animal is accustomed to seize things using violence or force. They fear nothing. They look death in the face and not run from it.
Did you know that the lion is the most powerful of all carnivorous animals? The lion is known for attacking in the presence of danger. And to think that God gave YOU the boldness of a lion.
Lions fight to the death to protect their territory. God has not given you a spirit of fear, but the Word says that you have been given boldness as a lion. You need to be bold when Satan rises up against you. You need to be bold and go into the enemys camp and take back what Satan has stolen from you. Be it your finances, your health, your life ... God has given you the authority to trample over the works of the enemy. Be bold, be strong ... for the Lord thy God is with you.
