Jehovah-Nissi, My Banner
He that dwelleth in the secret place of the most High shall abide under the shadow of the Almighty.
Psalm 91:1Today, I want you to think about where you are standing in the battle. Are you just a cheerleader with cute pom-poms who hides your face in disgrace when the battle does not look good? Are you perhaps waiting right in the back of the line, hoping that you don't get called up to face the enemy? Perhaps you're in the middle somewhere, hoping that you could be in the front line but wishing you could go back a bit to the comfort of your family and your loved ones? Or are you the valiant soldier, sword drawn and fighting aggressively against the powers and the principalities of darkness?
No matter where you stand right now — Christian or not — you are in a battle. There is an enemy that is waiting to see you fall and destroyed. There is an enemy that wants to see you become a nothing; dead if they could help it. And this enemy will use ordinary people to do this. The Bible says that "death and life are in the power of the tongue." The things people tell you, the things you say — they are binding words that destroy you.
Where do you stand in the battle? Are you equipped to resist these darts? No matter where you stand, though, I ask, "Are you standing in the shadow of the Almighty God?" Moses had a pillar of fire by night and a cloud by day to protect Gods people. The three young men had God on their side in the fire. Daniel had his Creator beside him in the lions den. And David was in the shadow of the Almighty when Goliath came against him? My friend, are you in the shadow of the Almighty?
