The Righteous Shall Flourish

In his days shall the righteous flourish; and abundance of peace so long as the moon endureth.

Psalm 72:7

Flourish, to thrive, grow abundantly, to increase and enlarge, as a healthy growing plant. Isaiah 54:2 says, "Enlarge the place of thy tent, and let them stretch forth the curtains of thy habitations." How BIG is God to you? Is the wineskin you're holding too small to contain the abundance God has in store for you? Enlarge your tent. Get a bigger wineskin. Take God out of the box that you have confined Him to and broaden your territory. Remember, Psalm 1 says that you shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that bringeth forth much fruit in season. Your leaf shall not wither and whatever you put your hands to do will prosper.

Flourish also means to be prosperous and to increase in wealth or honour. According to 3 John 2, God wants to prosper you socially, mentally, physically, financially and spiritually. Are you flourishing in all these areas?

Remember that Gods idea of prosperity is a prosperity in every area of your life. When that does not happen, it is like a man who goes to a gymnasium to exercise his upper body but leaves his legs untouched. What's the result? You have an Arnold Schwarzenegger with a Mr. Bean combination. And that does not sound pretty.

Flourish also talks about growing in grace and good works. Have you ever seen the smile on someones face when you bless them? Flourish in your good works and you will reap a harvest for the LORD.

Flourish also means to adorn with flowers or beautiful figures. When you are a flourishing Christian you have Gods glory around you. You have a radiance around you because you have a living God within you.

Psalm 92 says that even in our old age, we shall be fat and flourishing. Amen.
