Authority in the Name of Jesus

And they that fed the swine fled, and told it in the city, and in the country. And they went out to see what it was that was done. And they came to Jesus, and see him that was possessed with the devil, and had the legion, sitting, and clothed, and in his right mind: and they were afraid.

Mark 5:14 to 15

Jesus, over two thousand years ago, came into the country of the Gadarenes. There he met a man, possessed with an unclean spirit, who was unstoppable. Mark 5 says that "no man could bind him, no, not with chains" and "no man could tame him." The Bible goes on to say that he lived in the mountains and tormented himself.

Along came Jesus, armed with the authority from the Father above. It was this very same authority that cast Satan out of Heaven and onto earth. This authority spoke the world into existence and fashioned you and me. It was this authority that Jesus spoke with, and told the demons to enter into the swine. The result was a man saved from his torment, and a believer in the name of JESUS.

Today, you and I, as children of God, need to realize this authority. 2 Corinthians 10:4 says that "our weapons are not carnal but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds." In Luke 10:19 we read, "Behold I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the works of the enemy, and nothing shall by any means harm you."

You have been given all the authority and power you need to tell the enemy exactly where to get off. The battle that you fight today is a battle that has been won already.

What you are doing here on earth is enforcing the victory over the enemy. Jesus is a household name in the enemys camp. Every time they hear the name of JESUS, they tremble. All power and authority have been given to you to launch a counter-attack against the enemy. Don't settle for defeat in your life. Take authority over the enemy, in the name of JESUS. Make demons tremble and flee when they see you coming.
