Fact ... or Truth?
But they have not all obeyed the gospel. For Esaias saith, Lord, who hath believed our report?
Romans 10:16Whose report do you believe? When in the world there is only one report that man lives by — the report of the world. As a child of God, though, you have a choice. You can either believe the report the world dishes out to you or you can believe the report of the LORD, beautifully inscribed in the Word of God.
The report of the world is what we call a fact. You having no money to the end of the month is a fact. You receiving a negative report from your doctor is a fact. A fact is a stubborn thing. It cannot be disputed, the evidence can be seen, heard, touched and appeals to other senses.
Truth is defined as the conformity to a fact or to reality. Theres a huge difference between a fact and truth. The world dishes out facts, and some of these facts challenge your standing with God.
Sickness is a fact. Poverty is a fact. Violence is a fact. The crime in our country is a fact. A fact only becomes a truth when you believe the fact. But you hold a truth far greater than the facts that the world offers; It is in our hands and It is called the Word of God.
Are you going to make the facts of this world a truth in your life, or are you going to stand on the one and only Truth that the Bible speaks of? The Bible says that the truth sets you free.
Whom Jesus sets free is free indeed. You are free from the curse of sickness and poverty. Sickness cannot hold you down. Poverty cannot lead you prisoner. You are set free.
The Truth never lies. The Truth never compromises. The Truth never changes. The Truth says that nothing is too difficult that He cannot overcome it. The Truth says that there is nothing too big that He cannot solve it. The Truth shouts to us, "You are an overcomer." And the Truth whispers to you, "Search Me, and discover Me. Seek Me, and ye shall find Me. Knock on My door and I shall gladly open for you." Believe the Truth, not the facts.
