Ministry or Employment?
Who is there even among you that would shut the doors for nought? Neither do ye kindle a fire on mine altar for nought. I have no pleasure in you, saith the LORD of hosts, neither will I accept an offering at your hand.
Malachi 1:10What is the driving force for doing Gods work and fulfilling Gods will for your life? God was very displeased with the priests in Malachi 1. Everything they did for the temple and for God had to have monetary gain. A simple thing such as closing the temple doors needed recompense.
A.W. Tozer wrote, "The most critical need for the church at this moment is men — the right kind of men, bold men. Such men will be free from compulsions that control weaker men. These free men will serve God from motives too high to be understood by the rank and file of religious retainers who today shuttle in and out of the sanctuary. They will make no decisions out of fear, take no course out of a desire to please, accept no service for financial considerations, perform no religious acts out of mere custom, nor allow themselves to be influenced by the love of publicity or the desire for reputation."
Do you have a desire to fulfil Gods will for your life? Did you know that you have a heavenly calling over your life? Your life was designed with purpose. God in His infinite wisdom made you to accomplish great things on earth.
We need men and women who will do Gods will here on earth because such men and women of God have a desire to be pleasing unto God. It is these men and women who have that love of God in their lives; their lives are consumed with the love of God and for compassion for other people.
What drives you to do Gods will in the Kingdom of God? Do you have the love of God in your life to forsake riches and the world, take up your cross and follow Him? Living here on earth is not just about working and getting money. God is more concerned and interested in YOU. Not what you do for Him — that is the result of your desire to love Him and draw closer to Him.
