The Law of Truth
The law of truth was in his mouth, and iniquity was not found in his lips: he walked with me in peace and equity, and did turn away many from iniquity.
Malachi 2:6Malachi lived in a time when the people were dependent on the priests to teach them and show them the right way. That is why we find that God continuously had to raise up prophets, a priestly order, judges and kings to lead His people. And today, we still need the five-fold ministry.
But times today are much like Malachis day; Gods men and women have resorted to compromise and a washed-down gospel rather than teaching Christians the fear of God, showing Gods people what sin can do in ones life and teaching His people about the reality of Hell.
If we are to compromise and to give in to the lies of this world, where is the hope that this world needs to hear? If we will give into the lusts of this world and be no better than the ungodly, where is our testimony of the Truth that abideth in us?
The priests in the days of Malachi left the people to their own devices, "ye have departed out of the way; ye have caused many to stumble at the law, ye have corrupted the covenant of Levi, saith the Lord of hosts." Are we, as Christians and as representatives and leaders of Christ, causing many to stumble because of our ways?
Do we hold the Word of Truth in our lives and are we living the Word? Are there areas in your life that you know needs attention but you are just ignoring it and pushing that area onto the shelf? Do not compromise for this world ... television and radio and the world has a lot to offer the carnal desires, but God promises much more through His Word. Hold the law of truth close to you and, like David proclaimed, hide His Word in your heart that you might not sin against Him.
