As For Me and My Household
Let it even be established, that thy name may be magnified for ever, saying, The LORD of hosts is the God of Israel, even a God to Israel: and let the house of David thy servant be established before thee.
1 Chronicles 17:24Have you ever walked into a home and you felt the presence of God there? Its like walking into church, and all you want to do is praise the Lord and worship Him? Wouldn't it be great if households never ceased to magnify the Lord?
What does your household say about your God? Is your house established before the LORD? An established house is a house that is erected on a solid foundation; it is stable, unmovable, fastened, and no wind or rain or storm can move it. The only solid foundation one can ever have to build a house on is on the Rock, Christ Jesus. Is your house built on the Rock?
If so, consider this: If God walked into your home would He feel comfortable? Our walk with God must be a real one; a walk that realizes that God is beside us twenty-four hours a day. He is there when we watch our television sets, He is there when we praise Him, He is there when we sleep, and when we eat. There is no getting away from God.
Next, ask yourself, "Lord, is my household clean and established before You?" When Joshua entered into the Promised Land God gave him a specific instruction — destroy all the accursed things in the city. "And they utterly destroyed all that was in the city, both man and woman, young and old, and ox, and sheep, and ass, with the edge of the sword."
God wants no accursed thing before Him. Satan has subtly brought in his toys and gadgets into our homes and we have allowed accursed things to settle in our homes. God wants our homes that he built and blessed us with to be established in Him.
Joshua exclaimed, "As for me and my household, we shall serve the LORD." Is your entire household serving the LORD? Is your home sold out for God?
