Make a Difference
And believers were the more added to the Lord, multitudes of both men and women. Insomuch that they brought forth the sick into the streets, and laid them on beds and couches, that at least the shadow of Peter passing by might overshadow some of them.
Acts 5:14 to 15Satan has many people in one of three situations — one, the person is fighting a cancerous situation that never seems to end or, two, Satan has given them the riches of this world to keep them preoccupied or, three, the person is just too busy to focus on God ... too busy with work, with looking after the family, with cleaning the house and garden.
The God of the Bible does not change. The same God that moved with such power in the early church is the same God that, today, will raise a people that will go forth in His love, in His power and in His authority. The same God that you will find in Exodus that delivered the children of Israel from Egypt is the same God that, today, will deliver and redeem and call His people to cross Red Seas, strike rocks and make water flow, make walls collapse and make deserts rich in water.
The same God that created the heavens and the earth in Genesis is the same God that, today, will bring a valley of very dry bones to life and make them an exceedingly great army. The same God that used mighty men and women of valour to bring cities to repentance is the same God that, today, will raise up men and women of valour again to proclaim repentance to the people.
The big question is ... do you have a desire to be one of those people? Do you have the compassion and the love of Christ in your life that makes you want to reach out to others? Or are you pre-occupied with your own concerns and burdens?
Paul said, "It is not I that live, but Christ in me." Paul surrendered to a greater cause — to see the Kingdom of God spread to the ends of the earth. His life did not belong to him; he was totally given to God and His will. Are you totally given up to God to stand in the gap for nations?
