I Squandered My Money
If therefore ye have not been faithful in the unrighteous mammon, who will commit to your trust the true riches?
Luke 16:11Have you ever looked at your life and said, "You know what? I could have made better financial decisions." I want you to know that God is no respecter of persons. His Word is for every believer that will put their trust in His Word. Here are some lessons that we have learnt when managing your finances:
I want you to ask yourself, "Does God find me unfaithful in the unrighteous mammon?" Let me put it to you this way — are you using worldly means to get your blessings? Have you gambled? Have you bet on horses? Also, have you squandered your money on the lusts of this world? Innocently or not, if you have squandered money on the worlds way of getting rich you need to repent. You have put your trust in man and not in God.
Ask yourself, "Has your family been victim to financial woes?" Search your family history. Is your family known for constantly living below the breadline? God is no respecter of persons, but Satan is. He chooses his attacks against men and women very carefully. If he is able to keep one generation cursed in financial problems, the curse will continue from generation to generation. There is a devourer out there that wants to steal your joy by robbing you of your finances. Ask God to rebuke that devourer.
Are you standing on Gods Word? Deuteronomy 28 says, "The LORD shall open unto thee His good treasure, the heaven to give rain unto thy land in season, and to bless all the work of thine hand; and thou shalt lend unto many nations, and thou shalt not borrow." Stand on Gods Word that He will make you a lender to many nations.
God wants you to be blessed to be a blessing to others. He wants to open the windows of Heaven and pour out a blessing into your life. But God needs to know that you are faithful and mature enough to be able to be wise with your finances. Ask the Holy Spirit for direction and wisdom when spending your money.
