Our Spiritual Belonging

But ye are not in the flesh, but in the Spirit, if so be that the Spirit of God dwell in you. Now if any man have not the Spirit of Christ, he is none of his.

Romans 8:9

How does home make you feel? To many of us our homes give us a sense of belonging. It is a place where you can find love, peace and safety. In school we were once asked what the difference between a house and a home was. And one of the girls in the class said, "A house is just a building. But a home is where you find family. Home is where you find love."

God has prepared a home for you. One day Jesus is going to come back and you are going to be caught up in the clouds with Him. But this home is different from our homes on earth.

Our heavenly home is paved with joy and celebration. There is no weeping in Heaven. There is no sickness or pain or even death in Heaven. There are no orphans or destitute mothers or crippled fathers. There is peace, eternal peace because God is peace; His Son is called the Prince of Peace.

The Bible says that we do not live in the flesh anymore, but in the Living Spirit of God. The flesh has to surrender to death one day. Of course, we all know that death has no dominion over us and the grave has no sting over our mortal bodies. From dust we were created and to dust we shall return. But after that ... a new Kingdom awaits them that believe in the Lord Jesus Christ.

My friend, you have a Heavenly Father who has an unconditional love for you. He loved you so much that He could not continue seeing you and I live on a broad road leading to eternal damnation. He sent His Son to die on a cross; He made sure that the veil of the temple was torn in two and that every enemy was overcome. He then raised His Son from the grave and hell, and He made His Son sit at His right hand.

God is waiting for us to return home. He wants you to be a part of this Home and He wants you to share an eternity with Him in a place that you can call home.
