Standing On Solid Ground
Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken them unto a wise man which built his house upon a rock; and the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house, and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock.
Matthew 7:24 to 25Is Jesus the solid rock in your life that you stand on? When you decide to stand on the Solid Rock nothing can move you. But furthermore, God wants you to be solid rocks. He wants you to be like Jesus; He wants you to be a rock that others can stand on too. Your rock needs to be a direct representation of the Rock that you are standing on. When others see you they must find the Rock in whom you put your trust.
Are you a rock that others can stand on? Becoming a rock is not easy. The Bible says that when rains descend and floods come and winds blow, you still stand. Actually rocks that go through heavy winds, rivers and floods come out a stronger rock, a more refined rock. Wind and rain cleans the rock and makes it shine.
Have you ever met a person that always smiles? Every time you see him he smiles. He never sounds disappointed, always ready to pick people up, eager to make others smile. That is a rock that you can go to and you know that he will make you feel better.
That is what the world today needs. When they see you they must know that you offer hope; that you are a rock that they can trust in to help them. And when they find that in you they will find a Living God that cares for them and loves them.
Yes, we are standing on solid ground, and that solid rock is Jesus Christ. But the world is building foundations on weak soil; soil that is sinking into a damnation of hellfire.
Are you going to allow your life to be a rock to others? Are you going to be a rock that will help people rebuild their lives on a more solid foundation?
