The Moses of Today — Part 4

When thou goest to return unto Egypt, see that thou do all those wonders before Pharaoh; but I will harden his heart, that he shall not let thy people go.

Exodus 4:21

Point 8: Expect Setbacks and Opposition

Expect hearts to be hardened against you when you do what God wants you to do. Jesus shared a story of the sower and the seed. The first lot of seeds were stolen by the enemy. You need to expect that! You need to know that when you take a stand to do what God purposed for you enemies will rise up against you.

But praise God! The Bible says that God shall raise up a standard against the enemy. When the Egyptians came against Gods people, God protected His children with a pillar of fire. God will place a pillar of fire around you and He will protect you.

Point 9: Make the First Move

"And Moses and Aaron went and gathered ..." - Exodus 4:29a

Do not wait for your leaders to make the first move. Jesus said, "Say not ye, There are yet four months and then cometh harvest? Lift up your eyes, and look on the fields, for they are white already to harvest." Do not wait for a harvest to come to you. Stand up now, look around you — there is a harvest ready to be reaped. If you see opportunity to sow seeds , seize the day!

Point 10: Do Not Be Ignorant of the Enemy's Devices

"And Pharaoh said unto his people, Behold the people of the children of Israel are more and mightier than we, let us deal wisely with them." - Exodus 1:9 to 10 (paraphrased)

The children of Israel outnumbered and overpowered the Egyptians. Yet they spent 400 years as slaves because Pharaoh dealt wisely with them. Do not be ignorant of the enemys devices. Ask God for wisdom to know what the enemy is doing and how to respond to the attack. God will deliver you. "Am I not a Benjaminite, from the least of the tribes of Israel? And is not my clan the humblest of all the clans of the tribes of Benjamin?" - Saul, before anointed king of Israel

"And Jesse said, There is yet the youngest, but behold, he is keeping the sheep." - Jesse, the father of David, seeing a mere shepherd boy when David was destined to be king.

How many times have you looked at your life and thought that you are but a simple shepherd boy? You look at the situation around you and all you see is dismay and darkness.
