Let God Be True
God forbid: yea, let God be true, but every man a liar.
Romans 3:4A few thousand years ago God raised up a righteous man named Noah to replenish the earth. "The wickedness of man was great in the earth, and every imagination of the thoughts of his heart was only evil continually." This was the state of the world when God raised up Noah. In Genesis 9, God says, "And I will remember My covenant, which is between Me and you and every living creature of all flesh; and the waters shall no more become a flood to destroy all flesh."
Time passed, and again mans thoughts were evil continually. But this time, instead of destroying the world, He sent His only Son to redeem the world. It would have been easy for God to send rain for forty days and forty nights again. But God always holds true to His Word. Let God be true, but every man a liar.
Gods Word will always hold true. Whether it is Gods written word — every word in the Bible; or His spoken word — His word spoken to each one of us, we have the surety that God will not go against His Word.
My friend, take assurance in this Scripture that God is not a liar. If any man comes to you and says anything contrary to the Word of God — let that man be found a liar. God is true and He is holy. It is Satan who is the thief and the father of all lies; but the Lord God Almighty, Ruler and Creator of Heaven and earth, will not lie.
Are you barren? Are you sick? Are you battling financially? Is your marriage in trouble? Are you under heavy enemy attack right now? My advice is to get into Gods Word, lay hold of His promises for your current situation, and pray. Remind God of the promises in His Word — that is not tempting God; it is standing on His Word and believing that He will bring His promises to pass. Let God be true and every man a liar. Man lies, man will disappoint you and break promises made to you, but God will never let you down. Even when you are unfaithful, God remains faithful to His Word — He cannot deny Himself.
