Tithes

Then said he unto them, Render therefore unto Caesar the things which are Caesars; and unto God the things that are Gods.

Matthew 22:21

The Bible, from the beginning, talks about tithing. In Malachi we read that disobedience in the area of giving tithes brings a curse upon ones finances. Consider these three pointers when giving your tithes:

Firstly, pay your tithes out of a heart attitude of love. Just as God gave His very best because He loved us, we should give our best to God, "not grudgingly, or of necessity, for God loveth a cheerful giver." Do you love God? Then give your tithes to God out of an attitude of love and obedience towards God.

Next, give your tithes because you want to see Gods will accomplished on earth. Just as giving His Son fulfilled that which God purposed for mankind, there is a plan that God has to see the Kingdom of God advance violently here on earth.

Thirdly, there is a law that God uses when it comes to giving. This law is called the Law of Giving and Receiving, and we see it in practice throughout the Word of God. 2 Corinthians 9 says, "He which soweth sparingly shall also reap sparingly and he which soweth bountifully shall reap also bountifully."

If you do not give Gods hands of blessing are closed to you. You cannot go to a bank and demand interest when you have not made an investment. God works the same way. He wants to see you making investments into His Kingdom. When you give your tithes, not only are you opening doors of investment into your life, but you are closing those doors to stop the enemy from attacking your finances.

My friend, there are many things we can do with our tithes. Do not be deceived by man in the area of tithing. Remember that your giving of tithes is not for man, but is a matter between you and God. And God loves a cheerful giver.
