Who Are Ye?
And he healed many that were sick with divers diseases, and cast out many devils; and suffered not the devils to speak, because they knew him.
Mark 1:34"Jesus I know, and Paul I know," declare demons, "but who are ye?" Are you a threat in the enemys camp? Do they have WANTED posters, with your face engraved on it, posted all over their base? Or ... are the demons visiting you for tea and biscuits occasionally?
People get scared when the name of demons is mentioned, "Demons. Whooooo." Reminds me of the movie Lion King; the reaction of the hyenas every time Mufasas name was mentioned.
Well, my friend, let me remind you that the name of JESUS makes demons tremble (James 2:19), so there really is nothing to be afraid of (that is if you know the authority that you have in the name of JESUS). You have the same authority inside you that JESUS had when He walked this earth. The authority that comes with being filled with the Holy Spirit; and the same authority that comes from the Father.
Listen to this from Mark 1:24, "Let us alone; what have we to do with thee, thou Jesus of Nazareth? Are thou come to destroy us? I know thee who thou art, the Holy One of God." Jesus had those demons trembling that day. And then verse 34 shows His authority again, in forbidding them to speak.
My friend, demons exist. So does Satan. But the enemy has no power except the power that you feed it. And by feeding this roaring lion, that seeks whom he may devour, you defeat the work of the cross. The next time sickness or pestilence or disease or poverty comes knocking at your door, get a hold of the Word of God and start reminding the devil about his future and who you are in Christ Jesus. The Word of God is your authority and, with the omnipotent name of JESUS, no weapon can prosper against you.
