God is Your Protection
The LORD is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; my God, my strength, in whom I will trust; my buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
Psalm 18:2David was one relieved person when he called God by so many names. God had delivered him from the hands of his enemies and this was Davids song of rejoicing unto the Lord.
My friend, it is time to stop praying for the same situation over and over again and start walking in your victory. David waited for his deliverance before he sang this song. But we do not have to wait to do likewise — our rejoicing can start now.
Rejoicing is stepping out in faith and saying, "Lord, I know it looks like I'm in a sticky situation right now. But I know that you are greater than this situation and for that, I can give thanks."
The Lord is your rock and your fortress. He is your Jehovah-Nissi, your banner, your strong tower. A rock and a fortress symbolize His security, being safe in the arms of a loving Saviour.
He is your deliverer and your God, in whom you will trust. Satan will try and plant seeds of doubt into your life so that your oak of faith can be torn down. But don't give up. There is more truth in the Word of God to raise you to your feet than there are lies Satan can try and feed you to disarm you.
He is your buckler. A buckler was a four-foot long portable shield. That's God. He does not leave you vulnerable to attack. He protects you through and through, making sure that every fiery dart thrown at you does not prosper over you.
He is the horn of your salvation. Whilst horns were used for protection, animals also use horns to attack. You are a victor in Christ Jesus. You are a conqueror. You are the one that destroys the works of the enemy. You need to be aggressive, pro-active, rather than reactive. Your God is your high tower, your very present help in time of need.
