The Power of the Word

But he answered and said, It is written, Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceedeth out of the mouth of God.

Matthew 4:4

Jesus made it clear here. Physical food meets the physical needs of the human body. But man is a spirit being, and requires spiritual food for sustenance. Wherein lies the power of the Word? 1. The Word of God causes you to bear much fruit

Psalm 1 says, "But his delight is in the law of the Lord. And he shall be like a tree planted by the rivers of water, that brings forth his fruit in his season." A tree planted at the river remains soft and teachable. Your branches are moist and fat with nutrients. Your roots shoot out in all directions. And you continuously bear fruit. 2. Signs and Wonders follow the Word

Psalm 107:20 says, "He sent his word, and healed them, and delivered them from their destructions." Jesus gave each of us an instruction, "Preach the gospel and make disciples of all men." Preaching the Word of God brings healing and deliverance to people. 3. The Word of God produces perfection

2 Timothy 3 says, "All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness, that the man of God may be perfect." There is no situation that any man goes through that has not been covered in the Word of God. Studying the Bible acquaints you with Gods nature, His principles, His statutes. And all of this produces perfection within your life.
