Bearing Burdens

Bear ye one anothers burdens, and so fulfil the law of Christ.

Galatians 6:2

The body is an amazing creation. When one examines the many bones, and the ligaments and joints, and how they all fit perfectly together, you begin to realize how creative and an awesome God we serve.

But amongst all these bones and bulging muscles God has also created red and white blood cells; they are what are known as soldiers. When sickness and disease tries to enter the body these cells get into action and fight to keep the body healthy.

The Body of Christ operates much like our human body does. We all experience unhealthy situations in our lives, and sometimes we just need to cry out to others in the Body for help. And when that cry is made, it is the soldiers that come to the rescue.

Are you a soldier? A soldier is one who will stand in the gap for a friend and pray for that person until they hear from Heaven. That soldier will cry when a friend cries and rejoice when the other rejoices.

And in so doing, you fulfil the law of Christ. What was that law? "Love one another" just as Jesus loves you. Love is a strong emotion. Gods love does not bicker or gossip. Gods love does not condemn. Gods love does not mock.

Gods love says, "Cast your burdens upon Me, for I care for you." Gods love goes beyond boundaries, goes beyond colour, goes beyond circumstance, and embraces and reaches out to comfort and to heal.

Ask yourself, "Are you a person that others can depend on? Are you a child of God that will bear somebody elses burdens?" Or are you the person who can be trusted to be the gossiper? Do people avoid you because they know you will just spread the word? Today, examine your life and ask yourself, "Can I carry ones burdens as I expect God to carry my burdens?"
