Avoiding the Lions

All the presidents of the kingdom, the governors, and the princes, the counsellors, and the captains, have consulted together to establish a royal statute, and to make a firm decree, that whosoever shall ask a petition of any God or man for thirty days, save of thee, O king, he shall be cast into the den of lions.

Daniel 6:7

Daniel lived a life so pleasing to God that no error could be found in him. God does not look for men and women who will be swayed by what man has to say but, like Daniel, will stand on the Word of God rather than save themselves from persecution by dancing with the enemy or bowing to idols. Here are five things you need to know about having the spirit Daniel possessed:

1. In order to destroy you, people will attack your God. If they cannot get you to party with them, they will persecute you by attacking the God in you.

2. The Spirit of God is a bold Spirit. Daniel did not go into hiding when the decree was made, but instead opened his windows, kneeled and prayed. The Holy Spirit will always give you boldness to overcome, no matter the circumstance. Do not quench the power of the Holy Spirit in your life.

3. A den of lions cannot harm you when your life is in Gods hands ... and only in Gods hands. Your life must be 100% surrendered unto the living God.

4. Gods Spirit will give you favour with men. King Darius did not want Daniel in the lions den. Daniels uncompromising attitude secured him that favour with the king.

5. When you put your trust in God, men will fear the God in you. King Darius and the kingdom knew the God that Daniel served. Put your trust in God and God will always pull through for you when you most need Him. Never trade in your salvation to be saved from persecution.
