The Gory of the Lord Is Upon Thee
And all that sat in the council, looking stedfastly on him, saw his face as it had been the face of an angel.
Acts 6:15There are two glories existent in a persons life — the glory of man and the glory of God. Every person wants recognition; every person wants to be accepted and some people are willing to do anything to receive that recognition. Athletes want to be first to receive glory; soccer players want to score that goal; and at times we find people going to extremes to receive personal glory.
You see people doing ridiculous acts on television to receive glory; daredevils doing the almost impossible ... all in the name of human glory. The problem with the glory of man is that it is a temporary glory; it pleases for a moment in time only and the glory of man withers away.
"For all flesh is as grass, and all the glory of man as the flower of the grass. The grass withereth, and the flower thereof falleth away."
The glory of God, though, is eternal. The glory existed in the beginning; it was with Moses on Mount Sinai, King Solomon when the temple was dedicated, on Jesus when He was baptised, and the glory was here on Stephen in the book of Acts.
God does not want you relying on your own glory to get you promoted. When the glory of God is upon your life people will see a difference in your life. When the glory of God is upon you, you radiate, you glow, you attract people, you make a difference.
Being the life of the party is not being a good joker or a great drinker. That is the worlds perception of giving glory. Gods glory comes from a life dedicated to Him. The day you give your life to Jesus is the day that the glory of the LORD comes upon you. You need to hold onto that glory.
