A Light At Home
Neither do men light a candle, and put it under a bushel, but on a candlestick; and it giveth light unto all that are in the house.
Matthew 5:15You are the only light that some people will ever get to see in life. You are the only testimony that some people will ever hear. Your life may be the only life that can change a home from a situation of despair and defeat to one of hope and victory.
Have you ever asked yourself, "What difference do I make in this world?" I want to tell you today that God created you to be a lighthouse to ships approaching the shores of destruction. Your life, and the power of the Holy Spirit abiding inside of you, has the potential to steer ships to safety; to help the lost find their way, to bring healing to the sick.
Look around you. Everything you see has been put in your path because God has ordained you to be a light to your environment - every person that walks past you, every colleague that you interact with, is desperately looking for something ... that light that you have inside of you.
And that light is not a physical light; it's not a light that flickers, but an everlasting light ignited by the power of the Holy Spirit operating in your life. When you leave home in the morning, that light goes with you. When you get to the office, that light is with you. That light is a part of you, as much as your heart is a part of you. But you can decide whether you want to make that light shine before you or you want to hide that light from the world.
My friend, you ARE the only hope that some people will ever cling onto. I am not telling you this to make you feel good today; I am telling you this because God has appointed you for a season, for a specific purpose, for a divine appointment as this moment right now, to be a light in a dying and defeated world. You have a responsibility and a mandate to "go into all the world, and preach the gospel."
