What You Need To Know About Yourself
And God blessed them, and God said unto them, Be fruitful, and multiply, and replenish the earth, and subdue it: and have dominion.
Genesis 1:28As a born-again, Spirit-filled child of God you need to know who you are before you can go into a battle. Have you ever seen an army with a bunch of timid men in the front line? The enemy will ridicule such an army. As a child of God you need to know that there is no space for timidity and fear. Pauls encouragement was, "God has not given you a spirit of fear, but of love and of power and of a sound mind."
The Word says that you shall put a thousand, even ten thousand to flight. And when the enemy comes against you in one direction the word of faith that you speak will cause them to scatter in seven directions.
God created you to have authority even before you were born into this world. When God said, "Let man have authority" you were included in that number as a person of authority. Jesus came to restore that authority after Adam gave it to Satan. The first Adam lost authority; the second Adam restored it for you.
Why did the lions not attack Daniel? Why did the serpent that attached itself to Pauls hand not kill Paul? Why could David slay a lion and a bear? How was it possible for Samson to slay a thousand Philistines with a donkeys jawbone? All these men had the power of the Holy Spirit abiding with them. And they knew it. They knew that they were Gods chosen people. They knew that they were destined to be men of authority.
The next time you feel belittled or you feel that the problem that you are fighting is too big for you, simply remind yourself, "Jesus died for me over two thousand years ago. He has already given me the victory over my circumstance." My friend, even if it takes hours, weeks, or months of constant prayer and speaking to your mountains, I exhort you to remain steadfast and do not grow weary. The battle might be intense, but YOU will always come out victorious.
