Fighting the Right Battle
For though we walk in the flesh, we do not war after the flesh; (for the weapons of our warfare are not carnal, but mighty through God to the pulling down of strongholds);
2 Corinthians 10:3 to 4The rule is simple — love those that hate you but fight that spiritual war. Fighting battles in the flesh will not solve the problems we face on a regular basis. But the flesh can be used to stir up spiritual problems in our lives.
Lets take an example — a taxi driver cuts you off in traffic. The wrong response — hoot at him like crazy, get angry and try to cut him off, and maybe even call him a name or two. The result — You've opened your life to the spirit of anger, to a possible physical assault and you condemn the taxi driver because of the names you called him.
The right response — you remain calm and you bless him rather than curse him, and you even confess Gods love, peace and salvation into his life. The result — no anger in your life, and you will not give the enemy room to make you an angry person; and you have spoken the Word into the taxi drivers life — and the Word says that what we confess with our mouths will come to pass. Life and death are in the power of the tongue.
Remember that the enemy will always be after the JESUS that is in you and he wants to steal what God has planted in your life. You need to be on your guard and you need to know when the enemy is attacking and what to do when the enemy attacks.
There is no problem and no enemy attack that can overcome the power of God working in you. All you need to do is unleash that power by speaking the Word of God into your problems. Instead of confessing the problem, speak the solution and watch your enemies run in confusion and defeat.
And remember, it may not be an overnight change — but remain faithful in your confessions and run the race with patience so that you can get that prize when you cross the finish line. Choose not to be the victim, but rather the victor.
