And Jesus knew their thoughts, and said unto them, Every kingdom divided against itself is brought to desolation; and every city or house divided against itself shall not stand.
Matthew 12:25In this short life that you have I ask you, "What impact are you making in the area you are in?" Our lives are not what we say it is; but rather it is what our families say it is, and our friends and colleagues say, and our leaders say we are. Are you known for having a good impact in your area, or are you known as the District Parrot?
What are you sowing into your community? Are you sowing seeds of love and unity, or of anger and discourse? And I am not talking about relationship with fellow brothers and sisters. What about your spouse? Is there disunity between the two of you? What about your neighbours? And your children? When was the last you grabbed your children, hugged them, and told them how much you love them?
A city or house divided against itself shall not stand. It is brought to desolation — the house and its entire household are laid waste. You can get nothing good when there is disunity.
Disunity is a powerful tool that can destroy marriages and end life-long friendships. It has the ability to conquer churches and divorce families.
The Bible encourages us to live in unity with all people. It encourages you to love those that hate you and to do good to them that speak evil of you.
Again I ask, what contribution are you making in the relationships God has forged in your life? Are you sowing seeds of disunity and causing division or are you building up your empire?
