Waiting For the Victory
I will stand upon my watch, and set me upon the tower, and will watch to see what he will say unto me, and what I shall answer when I am reproved.
Habakkuk 2:1Habakkuk looked at the world around him in the physical sense - he saw evil men and women, he saw iniquity and violence. That's what a lot of us see today - the world through physical eyes. What's the key to getting victory over situations in your life?
Firstly, you need to change your perspective. You need to stop thinking, "Why is the world so cruel? Why am I stuck in such a situation?" God had to change Habakkuks thinking in order for Habakkuk to see his victory. If you want to see victory in your life, don't look at your situation through your physical eyes. Ask God to open your spiritual eyes and ears — ask God to build your faith to see tomorrows victory rather than todays defeat.
Second, cry out to God for help. God is a master planner. He is a brilliant strategic war-hero. God has fought battles since the beginning of time; He made enemies scatter in seven directions; He caused the enemy to turn against each other; He made rivers devour the Egyptians and He made 300 men shame huge military units. God can help you out of any situation. But you need to depend on God for the answer. Call unto Him.
Third, be prepared to wait on the LORD. Habakkuk was prepared to stand on a hilltop and wait for His God to answer him. Prayer is talking to God and waiting for God to respond. Too many people today talk to God and expect an instant answer. Jacob wrestled with an angel an entire night to get victory. Kings and nations fasted for three days and nights to get answers from God. How desperate are you to get an answer from God? Are you willing to wait upon the LORD?
Finally, be prepared to follow through with what Gods plan of action is. God has a brilliant plan for you to get your victory. He details every small step for you. All you need to do is humble yourself and obey. And that will always give you victory.
