My Trust Is In the Lord

He shall not be afraid of evil tidings: his heart is fixed, trusting in the LORD.

Psalm 112:7

The enemy walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour. The Word of God says that Satan is a worthy adversary. In other words, do not underestimate what the enemy can do in your life. Sometimes he will attack in a big way where we can actually see his dirty hands at work. But at other times he is subtle and attacks in little ways.

But, at the end of the day, the Bible says that he is a defeated enemy. His armour has been taken away and he is fully exposed. Yes, evil tidings may come. The storms may appear rougher than they really are. The winds may blow profusely against you and your household. The valley may even seem deeper than it really is.

But JEHOVAH is above our circumstances. The God we serve is not confined to a statue in the corner of our homes or in a specific location. He is a living God, the God of heaven and earth. "The LORD is great in power, the LORD hath His way in the whirlwind and in the storm, and the clouds are the dust of His feet." How true this holds. God still has His way in the whirlwinds and in the storms we experience.

"He rebukes the sea, and makes it dry, dries up all the rivers. The mountains quake at Him, and the hills melt, and the earth is burned at His presence, yea, the world, and all that dwell therein. The LORD is good, a strong hold in the day of trouble; and He knoweth them that trust in Him."

Trust in the Lord with all your heart and do not lean on your own understanding. Let Him, during times of distress and trouble, be the Light unto your path. Micah, when his own household came against him, praised God and said, "I will look unto the Lord, I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me. Rejoice not against me. When I fall I shall arise. When I sit in darkness, the Lord shall be a light unto me."
