The Power That Worketh In Us

Now unto him that is able to do exceeding abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that worketh in us,

Ephesians 3:20

Exceeding abundantly; as if abundance was not enough, God goes beyond the abundance to exceed our every expectation. Just when you think you know how God is going to bring something to pass He amazes you with something even more spectacular. A God who gives good gifts to His children.

But today, lets not talk about how much God can do for us. Because many of us know he can do a lot, but we still decide to live in sickness, poverty and unhappiness. It is the "power that worketh in us" that I want to talk about.

Nobody buys an expensive car that can do 300 km/h for a Sunday afternoon drive. A Ferrari was made for power and speed. It would be an insult to the car and the driver if some donkey of a car cruised past it.

It is an insult to God when our enemies triumph over us, when Satan intimidates us and when we are busy reversing when we should be moving forward dynamically. The problem lies in the fact that Christians have not begun to harness the true power that God has given us.

We rejoice when we proclaim, "Even demons are subject to us through His name" but we have not seen Satan fall like lightning from Heaven. Gods power, that very power that worketh in us, is greater than any power the enemy thinks he has. But we need to know how to harness it. God does not want you to be a beat-up Christian sitting on the side of the road with a placard reading, "Victim of spiritual war. Will work for food." Were not beggars. Were not some nation eating the scraps thrown from the rich mans table.

God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that you ask or think. But He will bring this to pass through the power that works in you through the Holy Spirit. Do you have the power?
