You Are Beautiful
And let the beauty of the LORD our God be upon us; and establish thou the work of our hands; yea, the work of our hands thou establish it.
Psalm 90:17What makes you a beautiful person? A lot of people will always look at the outward appearance to define whether a person is beautiful or not. But the Psalmist here asks God something amazing, "Lord, let your beauty be upon us."
David wanted His beauty to be a part of him. Gods beauty is not something we can make by covering the cracks and holes in our faces with makeup, but by a beauty that radiates from within a person. David was asking God for:
Gods eyes, to see the world the way God sees the world, and not the way man sees the world. Man sees the world with judgment; God sees the world with His love.
Gods ears to hear the cries of people — Man today is so focused on personal issues, that many are neglected — those in pain, the blind, the deaf, the poor, the widows, the orphans. And all we can focus on are our cries to God.
Gods mouth to speak His wisdom and His grace to a dying, corrupt world in desperate need of a loving God.
Gods heart that reaches out in love, that wants to uplift rather than destroy, to promote rather than to fail.
Gods feet that bring good news to the people, good news of hope, peace, joy, mercy and Gods never-failing grace.
Gods hands that reach out to people in need; that can touch the sick and they are healed, that can cause rivers of living water to flow from within a person.
And when you have Gods beauty radiating from within yourself, then will God establish every good work for your hands. When you are connected to God and you, like David, have a heart that yearns after the things that God wants, God will establish your work. And when the work of your hands is established, the Word says that whatsoever you put your hands to do ... it SHALL prosper (Psalm 1:3).
