Draw Close To God

Behold, the days come, saith the Lord God, that I will send a famine in the land; not a famine of bread, nor a thirst for water, but of hearing the words of the LORD. And they shall wander from sea to sea, and from the north even to the east, they shall run to and fro to seek the word of the LORD, and shall not find it.

Amos 8:11 to 12

My friend, do you know what spiritual dryness is? I'm not talking about one day you are feeling low and the next day you are on fire for God. I am talking about living in a time where only evil exists and where Gods anger has been kindled.

Can you picture the day when Gods Word will no longer be heard? What would you do if every Bible was taken and destroyed? Would you have enough of Gods Word in you to help you against the attacks of the enemy? Would you have Gods Word to help you overcome temptation and sickness and poverty and lack?

Today I encourage you to search yourself. I exhort you to draw closer to God. The days of just going to church to get by are over. We are living in an evil generation. You need to work out your salvation with fear and trembling rather than trusting in the church to uplift you for another week ahead. You are not going to stand in the day of adversity.

Draw closer to God, the Bible says, and He will draw closer to you. You need to start giving God more time to get to know Him more, to get His Word implanted into your heart, to seek His face, to turn from your wicked ways, to repent, to be filled with the Holy Spirit and to make rivers of living water flow from within you.

What a tragedy it would be when the famine of Gods Word is in a land, when men and women shall seek high and low and not find rest for their souls. Draw close to God, my friend, and plant Gods Word in your heart so that you shall not sin against Him.
