I'll Be a Winner

And it came to pass, as he was worshipping in the house of Nisroch his god, that Adrammelech and Sharezer his sons smote him with the sword: and they escaped into the land of Armenia. And Esarhaddon his son reigned in his stead.

2 Kings 19:37

If you were a king, and all you had was one last city before the entire land was sieged, would you give up? Would you be despondent if you were cornered with absolutely nowhere to run but straight into the enemys trap?

King Hezekiah found a second route — he sent messengers to a prophet of God. Throughout the war King Hezekiah never lost hope. He never gave up. Even when the enemy taunted them and tempted them to join their side, he remained firm, trusting that the LORD would deliver His people.

King David, in Psalm 118, wrote, "It is better to trust in the LORD than to put confidence in man." When we read the Word we realize that when people trust in God for a miracle, miracles happened. The lady with the issue with blood, after spending all her livelihood on doctors and surgeons, trusted in Jesus for complete healing and she received her breakthrough.

Even King Hezekiah, when he was close to death, cried out to the LORD. And the LORD extended His life by fifteen years. Would you do that? Or would you give in to death and say, "Well, I guess its time to go."

Are you a winner? Winners know how to stand on the Word of God ... always. They get a verse into their spirit and they trust God to bring His Word to pass. King Hezekiah knew that they were Gods anointed people. The king of Assyria rose up against him, and the LORD sent an angel that destroyed 185,000 of his men.

Satan makes a big mistake when he comes against a winner whose trust is in the LORD. Rise up today, and know that God wants you to be a winner in Him.
