Jesus Christ, My Ark

And they that went in, went in male and female of all flesh, as God had commanded him; and the LORD shut him in.

Genesis 7:16

God has always had a plan of redemption for His people. In Genesis God raised up Noah to build a nation that would worship the Almighty God. And then, when man sinned again and was taken captivity in Egypt, God raised up Moses to take His people out of slavery and death, and to lead them into an abundant life.

Again, Gods people rebelled and eventually God said, "Enough is enough!" And He sent His only Son to destroy the works of the enemy, to bind up the broken-hearted, to heal the sick and to bring Gods people back into a solid relationship with the Father.

Jesus Christ is our ark today. When wickedness prevails on this earth and mankind is drawn away from God there is only one place you can go to find rest and to be taken out of the flooding waters — and that's to our strong ark, Jesus Christ. We are in this world, my friend, just as Noah was and had to survive amongst a crooked and perverse generation.

But when God sees you as a righteous child, one who fears and honours Him, He will give you the instructions to get to safety. When you are in the ark a thousand will fall by your left side, ten thousand by your right, but His angels shall be around you. He will give His angels charge over you; He will feed you even when your country is in a famine; He will clothe you when the rest of your world is in poverty; He will call you out from the floodwaters and set your feet on solid ground.

You see, God was the Creator of the ark-building project and He will be the end of the project. When He shut Noah in, Noah knew that God had finished what needed to be done. When Jesus proclaimed, 2,000 years ago, that "it is finished," yes, the battle was won and you could always float above the waters. My friend, are you drowning in flood waters? Swim to your ark and you will find that He is your strong tower, your very present help in time of need.
