One of the most difficult things man can do today is to be patient. We have been programmed to be an instant people, to not waste time, to do things quickly, more efficiently. But when it comes to the Kingdom of God patience will take you a very long way.

Habakkuk was going through a terrible time in Israels history. Enemies had risen up against them, the wicked surrounded the righteous, and there was perverted judgment in the land. What breakthrough are you waiting for? What do you see in your situation? Like Habakkuk, do you see dismay and gloom?

I want to exhort you today to do the patience test. Go before the LORD and pray. Ask God for answers to receive your breakthrough. And then do what Habakkuk said, "I will stand upon my watch, and will watch to see what he will say unto me." God will always answer those that wait upon Him expectantly.

It might take days or it may take minutes. But stand your watch and wait and see what God tells you to do. Daniel fasted and prayed for ten days before he received a word from the LORD. Habakkuks situation, because he waited on the LORD, went from disastrous to a situation of hope.

Impatience produces bad fruit. It gives you a second-class life and reaps destruction in your life. When you are impatient you step out of Gods plan; you find yourself in situations that God never purposed for you.

Do you want to see breakthroughs in your life? You have to learn to wait upon the LORD. Wait upon the LORD; stand your watch and wait for Him to answer you. Ask God for a spirit of patience and perseverance to endure. Patience will produce perfect results in your life if you take the time to practice it.
