Start At the Beginning

The book of the generation of Jesus Christ, the son of David, the son of Abraham.

Matthew 1:1

Have you ever thought about your life story? Have you gone back to the beginning of your life and just wondered about Gods goodness for your life? So anxious to get by today; so impatient to get to the office; stressed to get work done. STOP! Today, slow down. Think about Gods goodness. Stop and look at the photos of your life that have left trademarks on your heart.

Think about your first footsteps, your first day at school, your first "true love," your first driving experience, your first failure, your first whatever. And then think about the first day of your new life. The day God pulled you out of the miry clay and set your feet on the Rock Christ Jesus.

Do you remember the beginning of your new life? Do you remember the days when you were anxious to get into the Word of God, hungry to know more; or the days that you were eager to get into Gods presence and talk to your Father? And today, many of us have forgotten those beginnings because we have become entangled in a journey of life that leaves little time for God.

Today, life is about putting bread on the table or the disease that is slowly killing me or "I am never going to get my work done." And yet, at the beginning, you believed, "All things are possible to them that believe" and "I am more than a conqueror in Christ Jesus" and "My God is able to supply all my needs." We have forgotten words like, "By His stripes I am healed" or "He sent His Word, and healed them."

Never forget the beginning of your new life, nor the testimonies of Gods goodness over the ages — it is your history that God has used to shape you and it is in your past that God has given you testimonies to strengthen you and to be an overcomer in life.
