I Am a Friend of God

Henceforth I call you not servants; for the servant knoweth not what his lord doeth: but I have called you friends; for all things that I have heard of my Father I have made known unto you.

John 15:15

A true friend, a friend like Jesus, is a friend that will not let you go. He holds onto you, ready to send a heavenly host to you in days of trouble. Proverbs 18 says that there is a friend that sticketh closer than a brother. There is a friend that is willing to spend all the time you need with you so that you can be encouraged. There is a friend that you have that stays awake 24 hours a day, making sure that you can be an overcomer, a conqueror, a child of promise and destiny.

In the Kingdom of God you are called a friend of the Living God. And when your enemies rise up against you your Friend says, "I will stand in front of you. I will be a consuming fire and the enemy shall scatter in seven directions. Nobody shall touch my anointed."

My friend, in this world we shall have tribulation, but we have a Friend in Heaven that has truly overcome the world. He took on sin and death, He went into the deepest pits of hell and He took back the keys of hell and death. So much has this friend loved you that He left His home, left His dad and a heavenly host of angels, and became human.

He then went one further and He said, "I will die so that my friends can live forever and ever with Me. I will take on their shame and their sin, and I will wash them and make them look whiter than snow. I will give them eternal life in a mansion that I will build for them. They are My friends, and I will stick to them closer than a brother does."

Today, remember that you are a friend of God. The Bible says that you have been adopted into a heavenly family, and you have a Father and a Brother that no enemy can overcome. You have a Father that commands the winds and the storms. He performs the impossible because He loves you; because He calls you His friend.
