All Things Work Together For Good
And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose.
Romans 8:28There are three words here that I do not want you to ever forget, "And we know." "We know that," Paul says. So why do we still worry and stress when we find ourselves in difficult situations?
Why do we want to get angry with God when we know that God is going to take that very situation that you are in and make it turn around for your good?
When your best friend walks away from you; when your marriage is under attack; when your finances are running low; when sickness attacks; when every dart is being thrown at you from every angle — do you know that God is going to make every situation turn around for your good? Because you love Him!
David writes in Psalm 129, "Many a time have they afflicted me from my youth ... yet they have not prevailed against me." The storms tried to drown me, but my God delivered me. The winds dashed against my ship but God took me to shore safely.
Work together for good ... what does this mean? Anxiety, stress and worry cannot work together with a storm. A storm is not meant to cause panic in our lives; it is meant to increase our faith in God. What must the storm do? Work together for your good. When you are taken through a storm, you have to know that not only is God going to take you out of the storm, He is going to raise you up to new heights for your faith, your diligence, your patience and your longsuffering during the storm.
Look at your situation today and talk to that storm, "My God is going to make you work together for my good because I love my God, and I am the called according to His purpose." And every time you see a storm, remind yourself that the storm must subside by the power of God and that the storm has to bring good into your life. The storm has no choice but to obey the Word of God.
