The Joy of the LORD
The joy of the LORD is your strength.
Nehemiah 8:10Joy is an emotion; a feeling of happiness and mirth. It brings forth emotions of glory and triumph. Humans are renowned for being emotional beings. A lot of us live life like a roller coaster because of this — on one day were on Cloud 9, and the very next day we are drooping with distress. And this is so contrary to what the Word of God says. In Philippians the Word says that we must rejoice at all times. In 1 Thessalonians Paul instructed the church to "rejoice evermore."
What a difficult thing to do! But again, Paul instructs us in Thessalonians to give thanks in everything. Everything! Even the negative situation you may be in right now. Because you know that God makes all things work together for good to them that love God and who are called according to His purpose.
The joy of the LORD is your strength! This world offers a temporary joy but the joy of the LORD is everlasting and it is your strength. The joy of the LORD makes you strong when you are weak. The joy of the LORD makes you go that extra mile when you need it. Feel like giving up? Don't! Instead, discover the joy of the LORD.
Ill make it simple for you — Ill tell you where to find His joy. Psalm 16:11 says, "Thou wilt show me the path of life: In Thy presence is fullness of joy; at Thy right hand are pleasures forevermore."
The only place you really need to be when you are going through a crisis is in His presence. Get into Gods presence and claim your joy. Lay hold of those pleasures that are everlasting.
When you are in His presence; when you wait for Him to answer your prayers, He says that He will make you mount up on wings of eagles. When you are feeling low He will make you soar to new heights. He will renew your strength.
