His Only Begotten Son

For God so loved the world, that he gave us his only begotten son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have eternal life.

John 3:16

Are you a part of the world? Well, then, I want you to know that God loves you. When God sent His Son, He did not send Jesus to the Pharisees only; neither did He send His Son to the widows or the orphans or the sick only. But God sent His Son for the entire world.

God sent His Son to be killed and persecuted so that the world, through Jesus, might be saved. When we deserved judgment and death God gave us mercy and life through His Son.

He took your shame when they stripped Him and cast lots for His garments. He took your sickness when He was beaten and whipped and spat upon. He gave you peace when you deserved war. He gave you life when you should have been condemned to death. He took away your poverty and made you rich.

Thirty-three years He spent on earth, away from His throne, away from His Father, so that He could give you a beautiful, sustainable relationship with God. Through the blood of Jesus you are adopted into a Heavenly Kingdom. When Satan came to steal from you, Jesus came to bless you. When Satan came to kill you, Jesus gave you a life of abundance. When Satan came to destroy you, Jesus came to redeem you.

"For God sent not His Son into the world to condemn the world, but that the world through Him might be saved." Jesus loves you. His love goes beyond climbing the highest mountain or swimming the deepest river. His love goes beyond conditions to receive it — He loves you unconditionally.

Today celebrate the life of Jesus. Celebrate the birth of a King who left everything He had to make sure that you enjoy a life that has meaning and purpose. Jesus is Gods only begotten Son. The Son of God became the son of man so that the sons of men could become the sons of God.
