The Moses of Today — Part 1
And Pharaoh charged all his people saying, Every son that is born ye shall cast into the river, and every daughter ye shall save alive.
Exodus 1:22Over the next four days, and as you begin to start planning for your vision, goals and mission for next year, join me as we discover ten
simple lessons that we can learn from Moses.
Point 1: Discern the Time
The instruction went out, "Kill all male Israelite children that are born." Had Moses mother not discerned the time Moses would never have grown to deliver Gods people from Egypt. She would not have hid Moses and his life would have been lost.
The instruction from the enemy has already gone out, "Steal, kill and destroy this world." What are you doing about it? Are you raising up men and women to lead others into victory? Are you, as the prophet Joel writes, "beating your plowshares into swords, and your pruninghooks into spears?"
Discern the time — read the newspapers in your local area; know what the enemy is getting up to — in your life, with your family, neighbourhood and country.
Point 2: Be Receptive and Obedient to the Holy Spirit
In Exodus 2 we read about how Moses kills an Egyptian and then, the day after, tries to bring peace between two Israelites. Moses took things into his own hands when he killed the Egyptian. He did not have that personal relationship with a Living God. He did things his way!
The Bible says that Gods ways are beyond our ways. If you want to be a world changer you need to get Gods strategy to be that "conqueror" that the Bible calls you. You have the Holy Spirit abiding in you to guide you into victory. Before you go out to change the world, spend time in prayer to get Gods plan for your life and His strategy for you to fulfil all that He has planned for you.
