The Moses of Today — Part 2
And Moses said unto God, Who am I, that I should go unto Pharaoh?
Exodus 3:11Point 3: Who Am I?
Who are you? So often we look at ourselves through the eyes of the world and think that we are just not good enough to do anything. We think our past mistakes makes us unprofitable to be good stewards. I want you to know something — Moses was not kept concealed on a mountain for eighty years so that he could go against Pharaoh.
God placed Moses in Egypt from a young age, kept him there for forty years, and then took him out. You want to be a testimony to people? Look at what God has taken you out of! Drugs, alcohol, abusive home, cancer, financial distress, failed marriage? Take what God has delivered you from and ask God to make it a testimony.
Part of "who you are" comes from where you have been. God takes your past, shapes you and makes you into the character, the image and the likeness in which He purposed for you.
Point 4: Have a Vision
"And I have said, I will bring you out of Egypt ... into a land flowing with milk and honey." — Exodus 3:17
What did God do here? He gave Moses the vision! He showed Moses the place where He wants His people to be — not where they are now.
Do you have a vision for your life? Have you gone before God and asked God to give you a vision for your life? God wants you to walk in the light; you must know what God is going to do next in your life. What is hope? Hope is not what you can see, but hope is an enthusiastic patience for something that we do not see to come to pass. When you have a vision from God, you have hope. And hope builds you, strengthens you and helps you to run the race with patience to win the prize.
