Carry Your Candle

No man, when he hath lighted a candle, covereth it with a vessel, or putteth it under a bed; but setteth it on a candlestick, that they which enter in may see the light.

Luke 8:16

Two thousand years ago our Light came to the world and died on the cross for you and for me. He took us out of the dark and set our feet into light so that we do not have to stumble anymore. He took you out of the miry clay and He set your feet on solid ground. He opened the prison doors for you and set you free. Today, the name of JESUS needs to be praised and worshipped as we carry that Light through the streets of our lives.

We are given so many opportunities to share that name ... on the bus, with friends and colleagues in the car, people at the office ... but we have been lied to. Satan has made us believe that we will be put to shame and disgraced if we share the good news.

My friend, "blessed are ye, when men shall revile you and persecute you, and shall say all manner of evil against you, for My sake. Rejoice, and be exceedingly glad, for great is your reward in Heaven, for so persecuted they the prophets which were before you."

Rejoice when men want to put you to shame for His name sake. I would rather be persecuted and share the Gospel than sit in my comfortable lifestyle and watch friends and colleagues die an eternal death in hell fire.

Today, I encourage you to pray, "Father, I thank You that You have not given me a spirit of fear, but of love and of power and of a sound mind. I thank You for driving out timidity in my life. I thank You for making me bold and of strong courage to boldly declare Your Word and the name of Your Precious Son. I take authority over all spiritual wickedness that stops me from spreading Your Word, and confess today that Your name will be glorified through the works You are doing in my life. Thank You for helping me to share my testimony with those who live in darkness. I ask that Your Light be a shining beacon to those around me today. In the precious and holy name of JESUS."
