All in Good Time
But, beloved, be not ignorant of this one thing, that with the Lord one day is as a thousand years, and a thousand years as one day.
2 Peter 3:8God is an awesome God. Can you write a mathematical equation to define what one day really means when you are in Gods presence? Our carnal mind cannot process the thought of infinity or eternity, because we are accustomed to having a beginning and an end.
Today, rejoice knowing that one day, when you are caught up in the clouds with your Saviour, one day in His presence is comparable to one thousand years of living here on earth. Can you imagine what your body would look like at that ripe old age? Yet God says that we will spend an "eternity" with Him — there is no getting old with God.
Rejoice, also, because God has all the time in the world to listen to you. There is no such thing as, "God, I'm sure you busy now, so Ill come look you up later, after I make an appointment with Your secretary." God can listen to you the whole day — He loves to do that. There is no such thing as God running out of time, or being late for a meeting.
This brings me to my third point. The Word tells us that if we call upon the name of the Lord, we will be saved. Imagine this. You are on your way home from work and your cars tyre bursts. You have no time to think, and no time to respond. The only thing you do is call upon the name of the Lord.
And that is all you are required to do. This sets into action Gods promise to save you. Everything happens in slow motion. God watches your cry come to Him. Between the time that you call upon His name and the time that the car comes to a stop, God has enough time to receive and respond to every word; to gather the angels together into a meeting and send down a troop of angels to help you steer the vehicle, whilst others are moving obstacles out of your path. God has more than enough time to save you when you only have seconds. Isn't God just awesome?
