Persevere

We glory in tribulations also, knowing that tribulation worketh patience; and patience, experience; and experience, hope.

Romans 5:3 to 4

Do you know the difference between perseverance and endurance? Endurance is having an, "Ill just make it" attitude. Endurance is all about scraping through; that which requires little effort.

But there are those who never give up. They persevere. Day in and day out they are pushing themselves to not just attain, but to win the prize. You see, Paul said that we must run the race to win the prize. Do not just hang in there. Do not develop the attitude, "Well, I am getting to Heaven, so I am satisfied." God wants you to have the right spirit, the spirit that Joshua and Caleb had.

Joshua and Caleb were the only two men who knew, "If God be for us who can be against us? Let us go into the land and destroy the giants, destroy the Amorites and the Hittites and the Jebusites. Let us arise and conquer." But the other ten men said, "We cannot do it."

Charles Spurgeon wrote, "By perseverance the snail reached the ark." You could be waiting for a breakthrough. You can see the ark way in the distance, you can see the rooftop of the ark. But what are you going to do? Are you going to wait for the waters to come wash you to the ark? It might be too late for you. You need to muster the courage and the strength you have, you need to hold onto that vision of victory and you need to push on.

My friend, perseverance is having the right heart attitude that says, "My God, I know my miracle is in Your hands. And I am going to push through my situation, push through my circumstances, push through the crowd, and I am going to touch the hem of my Jesus garment and get my victory. I see the rooftop of my victory, and I am going to persevere until I am basking in the glory of my victory."
