Diligence
For without faith it is impossible to please Him; for he that cometh to God must believe that He is, and that He is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him.
Hebrews 11:6God is a rewarder of them that diligently seek Him. I always come back to what Jesus said about the Pharisees, "This people draw nigh unto me with their mouth, and honoureth me with their lips, but their heart is far from me." Proverbs 4:23 says, "Keep thy heart with all diligence; for out of it are the issues of life."
Are you diligent in your walk with the Lord? Not us singing on a Sunday morning or going to church and Bible Study? The Christian walk is not about attending church services, or doing your prayers or even reading the Bible because you feel obliged to. The entire Christian walk has everything to do with your heart attitude.
Diligence is an issue that must be addressed at the heart. Webster defines diligence as "a constant effort to accomplish" something "with care; not carelessly, not negligently." The Old English uses the word diligence together with the word love. When you diligently want to do something, it should be because you have a great desire to accomplish something.
The Bible says that God rewards those that diligently seek Him. This means that the key to you receiving your rewards and getting your victory lies in the fact that you need to diligently seek and draw closer to Him — no matter the circumstance.
If you are diligently seeking the Lord, diligently studying the Word and diligently spending time in His presence, your words are words of faith; your actions follow the words you speak and your life is dictated by your actions. When you diligently search for the Lord, He will reward you. He will strengthen you. He will uphold you. He will take you out of the miry clay and the horrible pits.
