Back to Basics
Behold, I give unto you power to tread on serpents and scorpions, and over all the power of the enemy; and nothing shall by any means hurt you. Notwithstanding in this rejoice not, that the spirits are subject unto you; but rather rejoice, because your names are written in heaven.
Luke 10:19 to 20Knowledge can be a wonderful asset to the Christian. It always is. But not having the wisdom to use that knowledge can get the Christian into heaps of trouble at times.
Jesus made a remarkable statement in the verses above. A lot of the time Christians get so involved in their lives, in ministry, in church, in action, that we end up much like the church of Ephesus in Revelation.
We have the works but we have forgotten our first love. We have forgotten to praise God and to worship Him in spirit and in truth. We have pushed the love of God aside to do His work, when we actually need His love to accomplish the work through us.
Forget the daily problems, the daily routines, the mistakes of life, the condition of the world, and focus on your relationship with Christ. Do you still love Him? Or are you just faithful to Him, but missing out on His joy, peace, love, His tender mercies and His grace that is always sufficient for you?
We so often want to do good, to fight a good fight of faith; we want to make demons tremble and flee in the name of JESUS, but many a time we forget who Jesus really is and the true difference that He has made in our lives.
Are you willing to be a babe again and to just sit at the Masters feet and allow Him to minister to you? Forget all you have learnt and all you have been taught; and focus on establishing a valuable love relationship with your Lord and Saviour, Jesus Christ.
