Your Past, Tomorrow's Prisoner

Hear me, ye Levites, sanctify now yourselves, and sanctify the house of the LORD God of your fathers, and carry forth the filthiness out of the holy place. For our fathers have trespassed, and done that which was evil in the eyes of the LORD our God, and have forsaken him, and have turned away their faces from the habitation of the LORD, and turned their backs.

2 Chronicles 29:5 to 6

Your past has the immense power of imprisoning your future. Are you a prisoner? Have you been trapped by things of the past?

Are you living your life today bearing past pains, past hurts, past grudges, past mistakes? Have you left your past exactly where it belongs ... in your past?

My friend, it is time to carry out the filthiness out of the holy place. It is so easy to hold onto the past. But with God, and the precious blood that was shed on the cross of Calvary, God has made it easier for you to let go.

It is easy to blame the past, or other people, but sooner or later you will learn that blaming the past for what you do in the present does not help your future. You will live the same mistake over and over again, not allowing God to heal your wounds. Let it go, my friend. God can do a greater work in your life today than all the damage caused by what the past has done to you.

My beloved friend, I exhort you to seek the Lord with all your heart. Call upon Him and ask Him to reveal any past events or tragedies or regrets that have kept you captive and that have restrained you from moving forward in the light of the Lord. Allow God to do what He does best ... embrace you, carry your burdens and your pains, and let Him remove from your life that which has so easily ensnared you. Lay aside every weight, and every sin that has begotten you, and run the race set before you. Run, that you may attain the prize.
